Alpha Therapeutics Corporation Laboratory Facility

A quality control laboratory for the nation’s leading maker of therapeutic products derived from fractionated human plasma. The two story 25,600 square foot building was designed to accommodate vibration sensitive equipment and a heavy floor live load. The design and construction team was able to fast track this project, resulting in owner occupancy 15 months after the start of the schematic design.
Also included on the site is a separate two story 15,000 gsf facilities building for support of biotechnology, laboratory, and manufacturing functions. Due to the tight site constraints, this building was constructed into a steep hillside. The required large earth retention structure was able to be beneficially incorporated into the design of the superstructure.
